Tools and ModelsBelow are various sources to get modeling software and information. Because embedded links often change these links only go to the main source page for the models. Links to the specific software are found on the page. Common Computing Environment (CCE) Certified Engineering Software - from the NRCS, software includes: AGNPS (AGricultural Non-Point Source Pollution Model), HecRas (Water Surface Profiles), SITES (Rainfall-Runoff for Dam and Spillway Analysis and Design), TR-55 (Urban Hydrology for Small Watersheds), and WinTR-55 (Windows version of TR-55). USGS Hydrologic and Geochemical Models - surface and groundwater models used to predict responses of hydrologic systems to changing stresses, such as increases in precipitation or ground-water pumping rates, as well as to predict the fate and movement of solutes and contaminants in water. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) - these programs provide hydraulic modeling capabilities. For more Army Corps models visit Environmental Laboratory Models. USDA National Sedimentation Laboratory Models - links to AGNPS, Bank Stability and Toe Erosion, CONCEPTS (CONservation Channel Evolution and Pollutant Transport System), and RUSLE (Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation). National Digital Forecast Database - National Weather Service (NWS) provides access to gridded forecasts of weather elements (e.g., cloud cover, maximum temperature) through a digital database. NRCS National Water and Climate Center - includes the Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN), snow pack data (SNOTEL), water supply analysis, and other climate data collected in cooperation with the NWS. STREAM Modules: Spreadsheet Tools for River Evaluation, Assessment and Monitoring - a suite of free spreadsheet tools developed by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Ohio State University. Currently provides the following updated (version 4.0) modules:
U.S. EPA Water Science Water Quality Tools - includes links to the BASINS model, a tool for evaluating non-point source pollution; also includes information of health standards for all types of water bodies. |
