Extended Abstract/Paper, Poster, and Presentation Submission and Requirements


FINAL EXTENDED ABSTRACT/PRESENTATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE: August 1, 2008

Extended Abstract/Paper/Presentation Instructions:

For each conference presentation and poster, a final extended abstract/paper, and complete presenter biography in MS Word format is requested.  Below are the instructions for preparing final extended abstracts/papers.

1.  The final abstract/paper should not exceed 10 single-sided pages in length and 1MB in size. The first page of the final extended abstract must contain: (1) the presentation title; and (2) names and affiliations of the authors, with the presenter’s contact information. All extended abstracts/papers must be submitted in electronic form.  Only MS Word will be accepted unless explicit permission from the Workshop Coordinators is given to submit another format. 

2.  The final extended abstract/paper is to be prepared using the template provided below.

3. Each presenter will be scheduled for a total of 30 minutes (nominally a 25-minute presentation and 5-minute discussion).

4. Please include a 50 - 150 word abstract of your paper at the beginning of the paper. This will be published in the conference program and will help attendees ascertain their interest in attending your presentation.

5. Please include a biography (less than 500 words) to help introduce the speaker.  This can be the biography sent with the Call for Papers/Posters.

6. Oral presentations must be prepared in PowerPoint format only and cannot exceed 2MB in size.  Save your presentation as “Presentation.AuthorLastName.ppt”. A suggested template is provided below.

7.  A proceedings will be published for all meeting participants.  If you wish for your paper and/or presentation to be included in the proceedings you must submit them no later than August 1, 2008. Please send your submissions to Jessica D’Ambrosio at dambrosio.9@osu.edu.

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

2. Poster Set Up and Viewing

The poster area will be available for set up at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15.  Posters will be listed by number in the conference program and in the display area. Abstracts will be published on the conference website and in the conference program.

Conference volunteers will be available to assist you as necessary.  If you are including an online demonstration, we will provide you with the necessary equipment. Please notify us of any equipment you might need.

A formal poster viewing will be held on Monday, September 15 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Posters should be in place by 4:00 p.m. that day.  It is expected that during this time authors will stand by their posters to answer any questions from the conference attendees. Posters will remain on display.

Posters must be removed by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17.

Before the conference you will be allocated a poster panel number.  These will also be published in the conference handbook. The conference volunteers will provide you with your poster panel number and assist you in displaying your poster.  Please see the conference volunteers at the registration desk.
